These are my notes on rebuilding my pond

Purchasing

Pipe / Hose
- Buying notes
  - Do not buy that garbage pipe on eBay where it is only made out of PVC. This means that to form the ridges on the outside it must form grooves on the inside of the pipe making these almost impossible to seal properly. the low quality pipes also rip very easily and I am not sure on how resistant to UV they are.
  - When buying a pipe make sure it has a smooth bore, this makes sure you get a good seal.
  - I went with 25mm (1 inch) pipe as this is universally supported.
  - When defining a pipes size (i.e. 25mm) you are referring to the diameter of the bore (the internal measurement).

  - The clip max size would = the max diameter of the pipe you are clamping, but does not harm to get your pipes max diameter in the middle of this range to allow for easy fitting.

- Q: These adapters are incredibly tight and I cannot seem to get them inserted more that one barb of depth. my pipe is standard 25mm internal diameter, corrugated black pipe. Is there a knack to inserting these or are they faulty?

  - Now you know that although stainless steel has a passive, protective layer reducing the corrosion rate by water, and that the layer can still rust due to metal oxides and hydroxides.
  - But because it forms readily and tightly, the passive layer coating only corrupts/rusts on the atomic level, giving the “stainless” impression.
  - To answer your question, Is stainless steel waterproof? Stainless steel is completely waterproof.
