Setting up DNS name servers on directi

on a primary which is to have its own name servers (using lancastrian-it.co.uk as an example)

  • set up the parent domain as ns1.lancastrian-it.co.uk and ns2.lancastrian-it.co.uk
  • set up the child name servers as ns1.lancastrian-it.co.uk and ns2.lancastrian-it.co.uk but also inlcude the relevant ip address here

On a domain without name servers (using lancastrian-it.co.uk as an example)

  • set up the parent name servers as ns1.lancastrian-it.co.uk and ns2.lancastrian-it.co.uk
  • no child name servers.
