Android - k9 java.security.cert.cetificate error

When using K9 on android you get the following messages

  • failed to send some messages
  • k9 java.security.cert.cetificate error

These are caused by a corrupt or expired SSL certificate stored on the phone


  • go to an email account settings in k9
  • set up/confirm SMTP or POP3 settings
  • this re installs the SSL certificate required for secure email.
