XAMPP crashes when xdebug is enabled

After enabling xdebug in php.ini and restarting apache, viewing the default XAMPP localhost index causes apache to crash in the same way every time, reporting 'php_xdebug.dll' as the Fault Module Name.

The problem is that XDebug is not compatible with Zend optimizer so you need to comment all sections under the [Zend] section.

Vista WLAN Autoconfig service solution!!!

I have encountered a problem which seemed to have no solution. I was using my laptop earlier online then turned it off. After returning a few hours later I then restarted my system to find that there were no wireless networks to be detected. I found this odd considering I was in a hotel where each floor has it's own wireless network. Normally I would find anywhere between 5-10 networks.

I started to go through everything. I tried the trouble shooter. It told me "Windows Wireless service is not enabled would you like to enable it" or something along those lines. Of course I'd click yes however it would return an error saying it couldn't.

So next I went to the search bar in vista and typed in services.msc and found that the WLAN service was set to "automatic" but wouldn't start. I tried multiple times and kept getting a windows error. To google, and here, I went.

After several hours of searching and reading through some 15+ forums I had tried tons of solutions. Apparently this is something that happens quite often with vista. I wanted to make this post so anyone experiencing this could easily find the solution instead of trying a half dozen other "solutions" that did nothing.

My research led to two solutions.

1. You have a computer virus. Use multiple online programs to find which one you have. After you have found it, cleaned, and removed it use your windows disk to repair windows.

IF YOU DON'T HAVE A VIRUS HAVE NO FEAR. THERE IS NO NEED TO INSTALL ANY PATCHES, RUN ANY "UNAUTHENTIC FIXES" OR GO HUNTING FOR THAT WINDOWS REPAIR DISK!!!!

2. Click on the "start" button then in the search line type 'CMD' minus the quotes. Do not hit enter. With CMD in the search box hold down Ctrl-Shift and press the Enter key. This will bring up a command prompt elevated to Administrative level. Next type the command 'sfc /scannow'. Your system will start doing a self diagnosis. The diagnosis can take up to 10min. At the end you will get a message of everything it has found. Once it is completed go back to the search bar and type 'services.msc'. Once the services window opens scroll down to WLAN Autoconfig, select it, and manually start the service. YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO MANUALLY DO THIS AGAIN UNLESS VISTA CAUSES THIS ERROR IN THE FUTURE!!!

I tried several fixes from download .rar patches off websites to doing regedit. This has fixed it and I have restarted my system multiple times to check. I only hope I can save someone the trouble I went through.

I'm having trouble with my windows 7 right now, it's an ultimate version, I just shut it off last night and opened it up this morning. Everything seems to be normal util I loged in to my user. The old things happend after that, only the black screen showed up and an window pop up which shows "my computer" the mouse can be moved regularly.
I tried several ways to get it back to normal:
reboot.
reboot and login to safe mode.
change the resolution and multiple monitor settings.
uninstall and reinstall the graphic driver.
ctrl+alt+del will allow me go to the regular screen which I could go to the task manager, switch user, lock the pc, signoff, change pass word, and reboot or restart etc.
I ended the "dwm.exe" in process which would not work.

That window seems like the only hope I could access the computer which pop up everytime I reboot.

I can use that pop up window to go online and go control panel and all that, I can also run all the program just like normal. Everythings sames normal besides I cannot get the normal screen, no starup, no destop icons, no quick lunch. I could change my background picture, but I cannot use right click on the background.

I think I might of just reset all registry permmissions

  1. Open the document that you want to look like a Word 2003 document.
  2. On the Home tab, in the Styles group, click Change Styles.
  3. Point to Style Set, and click Word 2003.
  4. On the Home tab, in the Styles group, click Change Styles.
  5. Point to Fonts and under Built-in, click Office Classic.
  6. If you want to create all documents with the Word 2003 style set and fonts, in the Styles group, click Change Styles, and then click Set as Default.

All future documents will open with the Word 2003 default style set and fonts.

Hi, I have dell laptop with windows xp home. It is not booting up even in safe mode. In safe mode it hangs after displaying loading driver isapnp.sys file. In other modes, it displays blank screen. I tried replacing the sys file from installation CD but no use. I run chkdsk command from recovery console, but no use. I tried repairing the xp using the installation CD. It did copy set of files and restarted after copying. But no use and hangs at the same isapnp.sys files. No error is shown.

isapnp.sys is normally the last driver of "system reserved" group, then xp loads "boot bus extender" group. some virus could have injected a driver belonging to this group: if your antivirus catched it or something weird happened, your xp should hang just at that point.

you have to work offline (with a live cd as ubcd4win or mounting your harddisk on a working pc, not as the bootable one obviously), check if there is something strange in windows\system32\drivers, e.g. a file .sys 0Kb long with an unusual name, then find its name in registry (it could have a bit weird registry entry too)

beware of doing a backup (exporting in a reg file) before deleting those entries. besides that, this type of viruses usually load something else, at least as autorun (e.g. under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run), so you've to check the registry for other suspect entries in known places (and/or doing an offline scan with an update antivirus)

Logon / Logoff loop

Another critical symptom caused by this malware: This malware modifies the Userinit area in the registry (replacing the userinit.exe with wsaupdater.exe) and Ad-Aware (with a particular definition update) removes the wsaupdater.exe file from the system, thus causing the Logon - Logoff loop. That is, when you login to Windows, the \'loading personal settings\" verbose will appear, but suddenly it will logoff. This issue was documented clearly by Lavasoftusa in it\'s Lavahelp Knowledgebase.

  • Boot from ERD 2005, load the registry and navigate to this key

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\microsoft\windows nt\currentversion\winlogon

  • Look at what the userinit value is. On my customer\'s machine it was %system32%\userinit.exe which is invalid.
  • Next change the value to read

    C:\windows\system32\userinit.exe

You might see slight variations on the corrupt key, just restore to the correct value.
Additonally if the above does not work check the file is actually present, sometimes antivirus and malware scans will remove the file because of infection/corruption.
It is advised to run SFC after this procedure.

Default settings for XP services

I also want to add this to the solutions for installing windows 7, it happened to me, I would get all the way up to the splash screen for the Windows 7 before you get windows install button. However, I didn't have a floppy in the computer(no one does anymore) though it was enabled in the bios and apparently the installer was looking for the floppy and just hangs, so disable it in bios and you will come up with no problems.
